Missing scales?

So I was messing with Atlas, and I noticed his left eye was pinkish. I thought at first it was shedding skin, but when I looked closer I saw it was pink. He looks to have possibly rubbed off his scales on that side?

Does anyone know why he would do this? Or what could have caused it? I know it's sore, as I tried to get a closer look and he shied away from me; which he usually doesn't do. I'm concerned what it could be :(

I took some pictures to show you guys:

hi - its not raw, its not bleeding. doesn't look irritated. I don't know. someone with more better knowledge will probably pop in. at this point, I wouldn't be too concerned about it but I would watch it and if it get worse or bigger you might want to consider consulting a vet.

Are you talking about the scales right above the eye?? if so that's the beginning of a shed..

I thought so too at first. But he's missing scales, and the phone doesn't necessarily show it properly. When you look close, you can see where the scales are missing. It's just very pink, and soft. I really don't think it's a shed, as he's shed many times before and it has never looked like this :/

hmm I guess I can't tell where scales are missing it looks pretty normal to me...their scales around the eyes are pretty soft so maybe they did come off prematurely but I still think it looks ok.

He is in the start of a very thick shed. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
