Bumped this little dude up to the 40 gallon, he's enjoying the space so far. Each night he likes to sleep in a different spot so now he has plenty of options! What wattage for the basking/heat lamp do y'all use for your 40 gallons? Also which uvb do you all recommend to use in this tank? going first thing in the morning to update his lights and need opinions.

Nice job! As far as basking bulbs that's going to really depend so it's just trial and error (most of us have plenty of wattages on hand) the UVB most of us use the Reptisun T5 HO 10.0 as this can be placed on top of the screen and still gets plenty of UVB down to them. Some also use Arcadia 12%. You will likely only find T8's in the stores these have to be mounted to the inside of the screen and bulbs need to be replaced every 6 months compared to 10-12 months with the T5's
Hope that helps
petmountain.com has good prices there are others but can't think of them (morning brain going on...)

Yes, many of us have lots of different wattages on hand and use what works at that time of the year. Pet Mountain, Dr. Foster Smith, Light Your Reptiles and Reptile Basics are all good places to check out.
