Well my little Girl hasn't been herself lately. She was just laying around doesn't want to do anything. She is basking all the time but she eats her Crickets but the greens she hasn't touch lately.
So I thought I better get her poop to the Vet and get it checked. He said: She got a couple of pinworms, nothing crazy, no coccidia or anything, but just to be safe a couple of doses of Panacur and that should help some with the runny poo, he said.
Is there anything else I can do to make my Girl feel better.
These are her first Worms and mine to. So not sure if there anything else I can do apart from the Panacur?

Aww Im sorry to hear that. My Norbert had pin worms too. Vet gave him 4 doses of Panacur 1 dose for 4 weeks. He's on his 3rd week. This after eating crickets for 3 days. Crickets carry parasites and ended up costing me $86.00 to get him better.

Make sure you clean her viv good just in case there are eggs even if she doesn't poop in her viv they can still lay eggs. Get her off the crickets. They aren't good for her anyways. I do know after he gets his dose his belly hurts and he usually doesn't eat much if anything that day. Thank God we only have 1 more dose to go!

I am so very sorry that she has worms. Good luck and hang in there.

I would love to get her of the Crickets but here in Canada we don't have Dubia. If I had the chance I would give her them instead of the Crickets.

Can you do the discoids? Or locust's or worms? I know on the approved list from my vet there are a few different types of worms that are good for beardies.

No discoids and locusts we can't get here. But worms i can get. Silkworms, butter worm, superworms, hornworms,
I always thought that feeding just worms is not that good for them?

Also where is best place to get dubias

I think it varies depending on where you live. I found my guy on Craigslist. Other people order them online. I pay $10.00 for 100 if you order online you have to pay for over night delivery. They have to be delivered overnight since they are alive. If you order online I would look at a few different places for prices and read the reviews.

Probiotics help when your bearded dragons are on meds. The same way they help keep our belly's feeling good, it helps them too. I got mine from beardeddragon.co you could also get one from the drug store just make sure it's a regular probiotic and use have a capsule on their food. When Dolly had pinworms I mixed her probiotic with water and after I gave her the medicine I followed it with a syringe of probiotic.

I stopped feeding her crickets too because of the pinworm risk. I now give her supers, hornworms, or silk worms along with her salad.

Thank you so much for your Reply PatsyB. I already ordered the Probiotics from beardeddragons.com [emoji4] I was already looking and asking people what the best Staple is in Live feeders apart from Crickets. I'm for sure not using Crickets again. So a good combination of silk, supers, and hornworms is good then. Not to fatty I would think?

I'm a big worm fan, I use butterworms too when I can get them. Wax worms are a good treat, BSFL is a good one too. Dubia are real good but I can't get over the creep factor.

In Canada we can't get Dubia. But worms and I will make sure she will get what's best for her. Want her to feel better again. I will do what ever I can.

This is a bit off topic but I was always curious about it. When I got my first skink and took him for his check up, his fecal had pinworm eggs. However, I was told that at that hospital, they DON'T treat that. I was kind of freaked out. I told her we are very hands on with our lizards, my child handles them all the time, we cuddle with them in our beds...I want this stuff gone! It was the receptionist that I was talking to and she explained that some things are beneficial to the gut, etc. This place had successfully treated Precious for her coccidia, and my last skink who came here with hookworms. I don't know what the problem was with the pin worm eggs.
Anyway, what I wound up doing was ordering panacur from beardeddragon.co where I had ordered things for Precious before. I figured at least the dosing would be easier. At the time, my skink was just a bitty 90 grams maybe.
A few months later, he had a freak accident that wound him up at the hospital again. When I took him for a follow up to that accident, I had them do another fecal which came back fine.
Ironically he never once touched a cricket his whole life with me, had no clue how to hunt down one and no interest! So I'm assuming the pinworm eggs must've been passed through mom or contracted by feces?
But I thought that was so strange that they expected me to just leave things be!
I hope Lily is feeling well soon!

It is very common for them to have some pin worms in their system it's when their immune system gets lowered by stress or whatever then the worms can overload them causing issues that then need to be addressed.

Hdrydr - Do you think then that it was unnecessary for me to have treated him on my own the way I did? Would pinworms eggs just go away on their own with good cage hygiene?
Also, I apologize if I'm hijacking this thread. I was just always curious about the pinworm issue and got very interested when it was brought up here.
