I finally got my tank!!! It’s 4x2x2ft and I’m wondering what to do about the lighting. I’m trying to research more about how long the lights have to be on but everyone’s saying different things… like some people have said no more than 10 hours and some have said 16??? Can someone help how long should I have the lights on for?

I’ve been looking at what ceramics and basking domes to get and I was wondering is it a necessity to have a dimmer/pulser? I’m quite confused about everything to do with them tbh and they’re pricey too.

No, Just get a timer, idek why ud want a dimmer? Never heard of that before .-. , if ur basking bulb is too hot get a lower wattage, have ur uvb on for 12hrs and off for 12hrs, and a ceramic socket for ur basking bulbs is an absolute MUST, they get hot and short out if you dont have a ceramic one, one thing that u do need is make shure you have everything pluged into a power surge strip.

I have a 4x2x2. I use a surge protector from zoomed that has two rows of plugs. One row is hooked up to a built in timer. I run lights on the timer. My dome light is from home depot. Its the heavy duty heat emitter dome. I paid $15 for it. I use a 24in t5 uvb 10.0 by reptisun.

Hi we reacue & rehome. Both the Heat Lamp & the UVB should remain on for 10-12 hours in the winter and in the summer 12-14 hours more like 14. U need a clear zoomed 150watt heat/basking bulb for that size tank and the long tubular light for uvb which is the Reptisun 10.0 T5. Place the uvb 10inches minimum or more from the Beardie and the heat lamp play around with it. My heat lamp is between 20-22 inches away with a 150 watt bulb same size tank. I posted the heat lmao return the Home Depot one Amd get this zoomed clear bulb for $14; they have it in 75, 100, or 150 watt. Never ever leave lights on at nite; like humans all lights off, & all food and water removed at bedtime or u risk bacteria and an Upper respiratory infection. If the Beardie is under 7mnths old he needs a ceramic heat emitter at nite to keep the temp between 80-84 when he’s sleeping. After 8mnths old only use it in the winter if the temp at bedtime falls below 70.

Get the zoomed clear basking bulb it’s $14 and is the beat with an 8.5 Dome like this. But buy the 150 watt bulb and olace maybe 20 inches away or so I have. A lamp raiser.

Mine is 10.5 inches and made for 300w ceramic heat emitters. I run 75w because the 100w was way too hot. It hangs like the one you posted as well.

A ceramic heat emitter is for bedtime in the winte rfor adult beardies over 9mnths old if temp drops under 70 degrees and for dragons under 8mnths to use all year around at bedtime to keep the temp around 80-84. I hope that holder takes the clear basking heat bulbs. It looks like it mite but if u are getting the correct temp then that’s good.

I understand that. I meant that the light fixtures I use is for 300 watt ceramic heat emitters used for drying paint and other things. I use a 75w Arcadia metal halide full spectrum bulb in it. I had the fixtures and figured it couldn't hurt. I use them on both cages. Along with a zoomed uvb 10.0 my cages are 6 inches off the floor to prevent cooling. This past winter thier night temps got to 72.
