I'm building a 2x2x4 viv melamine with Glass front (crossfire design), I was going to use mvb, with hole cut in the top for reflector, so light wont be in the tank. Will this be close enough for uvb?

yes there will still be plenty UV light from a MVB at that height. Now you may or may not have to add a heat bulb to bump the temps up at that distance. but the uv output will be fine. and considering the size of the bulb you may want to purchase a soft white flourescent tube bulb (regular household not uv) or a compact flourescent (housebulb not uv light) to put on the other end of the tank to keep it well lit.
