I am sure your all sick of hearing from me right about now, but I am full of questions/comments the past couple of weeks.

Can you put a flood bulb in the regular lamps that sit on top of the tank. They say on there type A bulbs so I have not attempted flood lights or flood halogens.

If they can go in the regular lamps, what watts would you recommend?

Yes you can.. I do. Course I use that in winter time, when my home is much much cooler.. Oh, check the distances from the basking spot too... closer = hotter, further away = cooler. Just adjust distance to match the temperatures you desire.
Hope this helps.

Make sure that wattage load of the fixture is capabale of powering the bulb.

i.e. a 100w fixture aint going to do good for a 150w bulb.

I always check that, I am so worried about a fire starting.

Halogens produce more heat at a lower watt, right?

Yes but make sure it's the "correct" hologen bulb, some halogens run off 12v and need a transformer to be plugged into.

BTW...you can never ask too many questions! How else would you learn? How else would we all learn?
If questions aren't asked, I guess I'll close the forum. ;)
