I'll have a look for roaches... this was the other tube light in the tank, and ill post a pic of the new light set up. What worms are okay for my little guy for the time being if it takes a while to order roaches? He's almost 4 months old, ill post a better pic as well about 9 inches long
That Phillips bulb is a UVB ? If so please get rid of it and get a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 bulb --- does that fixture have a reflector in it? If not you need to get one w/ a reflector -- I recommend a 24" Zoo Med -- that will come w/ a 5.0 bulb but you can get them off of Amazon w/ a 10.0 bulb --- your dragon is not getting any UVB w/ that Phillips bulb -- your going to need to have a distance of 12-15 inches tho --- roaches are not available in Canada -- are you in Canada or the states --- I can give you another website for BSFL

No no that was the second light, I had the Phillips and a 48inch repti sun 10.0, I took out the Phillips. I live in Canada, I keep hearing we can't get them here... I'll look into a new fixture I guess

Okay thanks... he also hates water... -.-
hes going to get most of his moisture thru the salads rinse the greens before serving - his poops are going to tell you if hes hydrated -- you want dark moist and formed and the urate you want white formed and moist -- no dry chalky looking urate --- look at this website for insects https://www.thewormlady.ca/
you will not be able to dubias or discoids in canada ---- try medium super worms on top of his salads as well 3 tops -- you dont want him addicted to the worms -- silk worms are good for a staple feeder as well --- NO meal worms -- too hard on the stomach --

Ok please do let me know how it goes --- w/ your decor being permanent I am thinking its hard to get basking temps just right along w/ UVB distance --

Okay that could make him wait for crickets :) his poops look really good at least... I haven't had it sexed yet but his traits look like a male... would a female act weird and lay eggs this early?

One more question... if my house gets down to 18 over night, is that too cold? I've been putting a ceramic heat lamp right by his sleep spot every night, some sites say it's better colder but could it be too warm at night?

You don't want your temp below 65 at nite--- if you need extra heat get a che ceramic heat emitter--- you will need a dome w/ a ceramic socket--- temps at nite 65-75 F

Please help... I think I'm a bad mom. I'm doing everything I can and it seems I keep screwing up.
Beginning -
Ragnar was doing alright but summer was coming up and it was warmer in the house, so he was basking lower in his cage and I didn't feel he was getting enough uvb. So I moved the lights from inside the enclosure to outside the enclosure... at the time as well I started working full time so I gave him a salad in the morning and crickets at 4:30 and 6:30.
He then started getting stress lines until I would get home and feed him crickets (barely touched his salad). Ragnar is 3.5 months old now...
So after a week or so of that he seemed to be climbing up higher to get more heat... so I wonder if the lights out of the cage was too far??
Anyway he ended up starting to go to bed at 4 before I could even get home to feed him. I had my mom feed him durring the day and he eats a lot... but still goes to bed early.
I since switched his lights back... but to no avail. I miss my beardie. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Oh and he is also pooping good
I'll attach a picture of the enclosure.
Any advice is appreciated...
He wakes up at 7 and I have the lights on till 8:30, I wonder if I wake him at 10 instead and feed him at 4:30 that wouldn't be as bad?
Bah...
Hi
First of all has the Uvb been switched out? It needs replacing every 6Mnths religiously? U need the long tubular reptisun 10.0 T5 for UVB; it’s the best & most recommended one otherwise they will have no energy, unable to breakdown the calcium, unable to eat or walk and will get brittle bones. The length I order should cover 70 percent of the tank. The light for heat is too close is it a clear zoomed heat lamp? Try that one it’s the best, try switching to a 75 watt if u want it inside maybe or lowering or buying a lower basking platform; He should be 10inches away minimum from the uvb and heat lamp. Buy a digital themmoter and place the probe on the basking platform. Also keep both lights on for 10-12 hours in the winter more like 10 and in the summer 12-14; more like 14. U have the lights on for way too long rite now and it’s spring, switch it to 10hours till summer hits. Also, He’s 3-4 months. He needs proteins 4 times a day and it takes 2hours to digest his food so don’t feed to late. His first feeding should be a few hours after basking he needs to be warm to be able to eat. Feed Dubia roaches Amd crickets are the best proteins ans for his greens and veggies. Do mustard greens, dandelions, collard greens, yellow squash, butternut squash, green beans and snap peas. Mix 2-3 of each everyday the most are greens and yellow squash are amazing for him; all of the above ones are. U can do 2fresh plates we say, on the cold side so it doesn’t get wilted.
