That is a brilliant idea and I wish I could do that but I have no where to place a fan [emoji53] I only have a screen on the top not on the sides

I'm sorry I did not know that you didn't have screens on the sides. I have a very small 2 inch hole on the basking side so I ordered a screen to fit in it and on the other side it's a 3 inch wide by 5 inch long screen for ventilation. But his viv is massive, I personally think it's a bit too tall but it was on clearance, display model and it was an amazing price so I got it. It's so tall it's like he has 2 levels! Ha!!

Good luck with the humidity problem. We are always worrying about our babies. How is Spyra doing? Has the medicine affected her appetite? I've been thinking about her and praying for her.

Yeah I may be able to rig a fan up upside down on the top screen. Will try something when I get home [emoji846].

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, she is doing well! Wouldn't even know she was sick, still eating like a hog [emoji23]. We have 2 more doses to go and hopefully that will be it!

Yay!!!! 2 more doses!!!! That's great to hear she's doing so good. I'm really happy to hear that. I think her being older and stronger helps a lot.

Good luck with the fan. I can show you Wally's fan if you need or want to see it. It is small like the size of my phone, but helps a lot!!!

Okay. I think I'm getting some ideas on how I could make that work. If I can find a fan like that I could possibly zip tie it to the screen on the top, if the handle is tight.

Look online at Walmart.com or Amazon we got that one at Walmart here locally. It is so quiet I can't even tell if it's on and the best thing is I can turn it back around so if it gets TOO hot in his viv I can circulate his air just a bit. It's not very fast or cool. If you bought this fan for yourself for the summer heat to cool yourself off - it would make you mad cuz for that it sucks but for just a little air flow it's perfect!

Thanks for the advice I will try to find something to rig up. Good thing is humidity in her viv is 40% today and not 50-60. I think a fan will do the trick since it doesn't need to be lowered much.

That's great that Spyra's humidity is lower tonight! You are right you don't need to lower it that much so if you and RaeAnn can figure something out you will solve your problem with humidity!

That's such a brilliant idea. Thanks mxw0rld. Now we just had to figure out a way to apply your concept to a Viv where the screen in on top.

I'm sure with the both of you thinking of a way to figure something out you both will come up with an amazing idea! Heck you will probably make Spyra her own fan, as creative as you are!

Haha I don't know about that now, I wish I was that creative. I'm thinking of a fan just like the one you have and just sitting it on top of her cage. We could face it straight up to blow humidity out and face it straight down if we ever need to have more airflow through out her Viv.

Sounds exactly like what I do!

There was one day a week ago when our temps outside were over 100F, I opened his doors and this massive stale heat wave hit me in the face! I was like awwww Wally this is bad. So I turned that fan around and within about 30 minutes it felt back to normal. I know they are from the desert and are used to heat but that was bad in my opinion. So this cheap 15.00 fan serves 2 purposes! Win win in my book! Lol lol

Absolutely. A few weeks ago our ac went out and we had a similar situation. A heat wave and also dangerous level of humidity with no air flow in the house. We did the same, opened her Viv and placed our room fan near her. It was horrible but thankfully was fixed the next day. A fan that size would've been perfect to have on deck than, and at 15 bucks you can't beat it. Since we just need to take a little edge off every now and than I really think this will be perfect. Thanks again for sharing this with us

You're welcome! Wally says he can't have his girlfriend unhappy or TOO hot.

Good luck and Keep us posted on what you end up doing.

You could try putting the small fan on the screen to see it makes any difference as an experiment..can't hurt
