Why would you turn off the lights on the left side?I would turn off the light on the left side, and see what happens.
Not to beat a dead horse, I'm also worried about the diagnosis with just weighing him, no blood test or stool/urate sample. I'm also not a big fan of force feeding, you can easily hurt the lizard. So make sure you have someone to help you do this.
