How big is a BD so pose to be for sand!!

Must be at the very least 10" nose to tip of tail for strained Children's Washed Play Sand. Even if he is that size, I wouldn't even consider it, until you fatten him up some & get him good & healthy.

Okay that makes sense. what live prey will fatten up a BD?

Most worms a generally fattier. Might be a good idea to vary it's diet a bit to help get some meat on it. Be sure that you are feeding it as much prey as it will eat in 10-15 minute period, 2-3 times a day.
