household bulbs for my beardie?

Hey, I saw that the reptile basking bulbs are way more expensive than household bulbs. Can i just use a regular bulb for my beardie's basking spot? My light fixture is 10 in (25.4 cm) away from the basking spot. What bulb do you reccomend? what wattage is it? thx
