Why is Pete's belly red??
It doesnt look like he has a wound - though he is squirmy so it is hard to tell
It looks red underneath the skin...what could this be?

thanks
Steph

he's just on brown reptile carpet
his regular color looks pretty good - and he ate a bunch of crickets for breakfast so his appetite seems ok too...

That's odd. My thought would've been that the color of the substrate (if it were sand or clay) may have rubbed off on his underside

Can you get a picture of his belly?

Is it red red or just not white?
Could he have chaffed against something?
Do you have an undertank heating source where he couldve gotten too hot?

Glad to hear his appetite is up again.

yesterday I put a tiny bit of canned beets on top of his salad - which he never eats anyway - and which I now know should be offered rarely if at all
could it be that the one day he actually chose to eat salad, he chose the beets - and it is those moving through?

doubtful, but it could definately be that he crawled all over them.

that's staining from fruits or veggies. not internal.

Yeah, that looks like an external stain to me too, reminds me of when my kids mix their own raspberry juice from the concentrate. Their hands look like that for a couple days after too.

Think he maybe sat in his salad yesterday.

After seeing the pic, I was thinking he'd laid on something in his food bowl, too.

That is kind of cute. It might stay on till he sheds...beat stains are next to impossible to get off anything
