Any white or clear bulb of sufficient wattage to provide the desired temps can be used. There are many variables that will determine the Wattage required to do this. Ambient room temps, bulb type, screen or no screen, distance from the basking spot, size of the enclosure, etc, etc. We all have to play with different types, wattages of bulbs & distances to suit our individual setups until we find what works. What works in your setup & room, may not work in mine. Personally I use Halogen Bulbs for all my basking bulbs.
