Help with high humidity

Hi everyone,

I live off the west coast and while we don’t normally have high humidity, when the clouds are socked in it seems to stick around for a lot longer.

I’m struggling to get my bearded dragons tank anywhere close to at min 50%. It’s currently hanging around 65-70 which I know of way too high.

I’ve got fans currently running in the room to help with circulation, a rice filled sock in the tank and a small reptile dehumidifier fan on the tank.

Not much seems to be working. I’m hoping someone else who’s dealt with this before has some other suggestions.

Thanks!

Hey welcome to the forum! Sorry it took so long for someone to reply!
I don't think this is a huge issue if it's clearing out every few days for a few more days at least. What area of the west coast are you? I'm in Southern California, it's pretty dry here. Real good beardie conditions. I would be worried about high humidity issues if I was in a swampy area or maybe the PNW winters. Other than that you should be OK

Hi! I’m in San Diego right by the water. Normally the humidity isn’t an issue, but we’ve got some heat and the clouds are hanging around longer which is keeping the humidity higher than normal.

The humidifier seems to be helping along with the fans. I’m getting an average humidity around 50% durning the day.

Honestly that's totally fine. Temps are probably nice and toasty right? And he's dry to the touch?

Temps inside the tank are nice and warm and he’s been basking with his little mouth open. He’s moving around, eating, dry to the touch and seems happy.
