Ok so me and my roommate just bought ourselves two baby beardies on tuesday.
-Around 2 Months old
-Bought at PetCo.
Problem is one is acting very strange.
She ate fine this morning (small crickets/gutloaded/dusted) and lightly sprayed both of them. When i got home this afternoon she was laying in the back corner of the tank (ground), eyes closed and strange breathing.
I then put in some fresh Kale. Followed with about 10 small crickets. My beardie went and started feasting on the crickets. BUT the other one just barely got up to watch the commotion. I waited a few hours and she was still doing it. I tried to pick her up to move her to the warm side of the tank or onto basking spot but she sort of got jumpy and freaked out. Which has never happen before!
What could be wrong!!!
I dont feel we are doing anything wrong since my dragon seems perfectly fine. Sits there most of the day basking with her head up, eating great, very responsive to interaction. And the two have not had any issues with each other.
Heres our tank setup
20 Gallon- (Yes i know this is small but it is only temporary, maybe a week at the most, we plan to get either two 40 Gal. or a 75 Gal.)
-100 Watt basking lamp
-100 Watt nighttime red basking lamp
-30 inch UVB (Zilla Reptile Strip Light) (50UVB T8 Fluorescent Bulb)
-Substrate- Newspaper for now
-Temp on hot side: 92-96 (Day) 84-86 (Night)
-Cool Side: 86-88 (Day) 76-82 (Night)
We are new to reptiles but feel that we have a good understanding of the basics and truly care about their health!!
PLEASE any suggestions would be wonderful!
Thanks,
Luke
