Help! My dragon laid eggs!!

Many months ago my bearded dragon was housed with what I thought was another female, but I found out the hard way that he was a boy. I got rid of him, gave him to a breeder, and that was several months ago. Just today, hours ago even, my dragon gave birth to a brood of eggs. They didn't look fully formed and some were caved in, so I assume that they were infertile.
Were they?? Can fertile eggs cave in and die in a matter of hours?? And most of all, I'm worried about her health. I hear that each time they give birth to fertile or infertile eggs it lowers their lifespan. Is that true?

Doesn't sound like they were fertile or not good eggs if they were. As far as laying shortening the lifespan, unless she multiple clutches 4-5 times or more, one immediately after another, that should not be true at all. Just do your best to up her calcium intake for the next while & get weight weight back up, she should be just fine.

But why did she lay eggs in the first place? If I had noticed her preganancy and taken care of her better I wondered if the eggs might turn out alright, an I failed as a mama. :(

Females can & may periodically lay eggs without ever being with a male, just that they will be infertile. Dinah used to lay 1-3 clucthes of infertile eggs a year. Sandy didn't lay her first one until she was 6 or 7 years old. Some will never lay, varies from Dragon to Dragon. Infertile eggs can be hard, if not impossible to detect other than some weight gain, which can easily be mistaken for just that, weight gain. I generally freeze the eggs, then dispose of them, if they have never been with a male.
