He could just be experiencing relocation stress. He's in a very unfamilliar place, and needs to get used to it. Just keep trying every day, and don't worry if he doesn't eat for a few days or so. Make sure you avoid handling him too much, since he's new, you might stress him out more.

Yes it could be relocation stress, but please answer a few questions.

1. How old?
2. How long?
3. are you using a digital thermometer to read temps?
4. uvb...what kind and % is it?
5. what is the substrate?
6. what are you feeding for greens?
7. what are you trying to feed for live food?
8. did you soak him when you first brought him home to hydrate him?
9. last poop?

Hi and welcome. These little guys can drive us bonkers. It is most likely relo stress. Setup is very important. Unfortunately, I don't trust the pet stores. Lisa's questions will assist us to determine if it is relo stress couple with a setup issue.

In addition to her questions, what are you using to measure your temps.

3. are you using a digital thermometer to read temps? um no Very important to use either a digital thermomoter or a temp gun. The ones that stick to the tank can be 20* off. Temps are very important to a beardie. It helps with digestion and if not correct a beardie might not eat properly.4. uvb...what kind and % is it? yess its a curly bulb 5.00 Those aren't good uvb bulbs...not enough uvb. The repti sun 10.0 long tube style are the best.
5. what is the substrate? reptile carpet
6. what are you feeding for greens? ice berg letuce and carrots Lettuce and carrots aren't the best choice...no nutritional value in the lettuce. Leafy greens like bok choy, swiss chard, escarole, collard greens are better choices. Carrots can be feed occassionally.
7. what are you trying to feed for live food? small crikets an meal worms Crix are good...meal worms are not. Can cause problems with your beardie. They have too much chitten (hard shell) and can cause impaction. Stick with crix no bigger than the space between the beardies eyes. Feed 3x a day as many crix as he can eat in 10 minutes. Make sure you are dusting with a caclium with D3.
8. did you soak him when you first brought him home to hydrate him? last night i gave him a warm bath
9. last poop? saturday you will see poop every day most likely once he is eating properly.

I'm feeling that that 7" might, just might mean 7 weeks or so...
Hope this helps...
I also agree with Lisa on her suggestions.

OK...but just realize that the suggestions I gave are for an adult beardie too. While you are there return (if you can) the uvb and get the tube 10.0 repti sun and get a digital thermometer.

Not really...you can't put two beardies in one tank. The 50 gallon tank will make a great set up for one loved beardie. They don't need company just you. Just make sure you get those two things I mentioned. And since your tank is so big it wouldn't hurt to have two digis...one for the hot side and one for the cool.

We can all post pics....but honestly most of the time you can't tell if they are acting normal just from a picture. Normally we can tell by symptoms you are posting. If you go to the photo section, there are lots of pics of healthy beardies.

Honestly....if you really want a healthy well bred dragon, a breeder is really the way to go. There are three right on this forum that I am sure have some great beardies that you can pick from. Just a suggestion. Just realize that those pet store...they are out for one thing...to make money, and many times they don't even know who they are getting dragons from.

Ok. I've been following this post and am very confused.

Your current beardie may be perfectly healthy. With the right temps, lighting and food, your beardie should perk up and have a nice normal life. As mentioned, carrots and lettuce are not staples for a dragon's diet. I'll provide the link to our food chart, which provides a comprehensive list of acceptable foods for bearded dragons.

Once you change your UV light and ensure your temps are accurate, your dragon will eat on his/her own.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this beardie, it is just stressed and the new one will most likely be stressed and not eat for a few days. I too advise against having 2 in one tank, they don't like other dragons. Perfect example, someone on here just had some babies hatch today and one grabbed another one by the head. My two dragons puff up, and charge at each other if they even see each other, and one is a male and one is a female. I would not recommend getting 2 unless you have a second set up for it.
