Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum, and just wanted to introduce myself. Also, I am new to beardies overall. I recently purchased a few, and I am such a fan. They are each unique with their markings and their personalities. I only wish I knew about them sooner. Thanks for having me, and I look forward to learning as much as I can from the community.

Git' R' Dunner.JPG

I haven't picked a name for the red female yet, but the male is Git' R' Dunner. Do you have pictures here in the gallery?

Actually I posted the wrong pic. That 2nd one is a female dunner, not a male. I thought it was his pic... She doesn't have a name either.

I think they sent you normal dragons and not dunners. Dunner dragons have larger feet. Would you tell me the direction the beard scales grow please.

I know about the scales but recently in a few videos / articles I've heard breeders proclaim dunners have vertical stripes down the tail instead of horizontal. But I guess that's not the case then. Learn something new everyday.

They all came from a small batch of dragons, originally that was true but they have bred that trait out for the most part. Some of favorite dunners have no pattern.

Hey everyone thanks for your input on the dragons. A couple things real quick. The pictures I posted were first of a leather het hypo from Excalibur Dragons. That one (red leather) clearly is not a dunner. The second one I posted is a pic of a male Dunner. This dragon is 100% a dunner, also I purchased his clutchmate, (another Dunner) a smaller female, with great color and pattern ( I think she's much prettier than the he is) She's in shed and cranky now, so I am leaving her alone other than bathing and feeding for the most part. But when she is done I will update her photo also. She as well is 100% Dunner. I have met a lot people who are telling me theres no way I have a Dunner, let alone two. I am very new to Bearded Dragons, so I am confused as to the rejection of my dunners....These dragons here, are my first, and I spent about a month picking them out. I must have looked at over 1000+ different babies, and read 100s of posts/guides on morph's like hypo, trans, dunners, witblits, patternless, silkback, Japanese silverback... When I decided to buy, in order my preferences were a witblits (to expensive) Dunners, or Reds. I know the dunner trait is relatively new, so maybe there are not that many of them yet, or maybe the prices are to high, or maybe the are undesirable, but the 2 dunners I got are direct offspring from a Kevin Dunne bred Dunner. I wanted to purchase directly from him, but I found it difficult to contact him directly, so I went to the next best option, which was a pairing of one of his Dunner dragons with another quality bred dragon. I found breeders I purchased from on Fauna Classified, and then selected from their web-site the ones that I really liked. Why do I think they are dunners? Well, the larger chest muscles, the unique tail pattern., their large feet, the random scales, and the scales on their beards run backwards. Other than that, I don't know what else they need to have to be considered a dunner. the way I understand it: either a dunner or not. And I think they are.... Thanks again, and I will post some pics as they come out of shed. They really are beautiful animals, and the Dunners are so chill. The just hang out all day, very alert, great eathers, and seem to enjoy their baths and being handled more so than the others. Thanks again, and if there is anything I am missing to make sure this is a Dunner, Let me know.

If the beard runs different then yes they are dunners. I wasnt trying to be negative but alot of poor breeders will lie to people so they can make more money on the dragons. I had a silkback lined up only to find it was a normal dragon, not even leatherback. Another was a "Rankin" dragon only to find a 12" dragon........they said he was part german giant when I pointed out it was too large.

No worries, I have just heard the same thing from quite a few people. I went to my first reptile expo here in Cleveland last Sunday, and the breeder there also was skeptical about me having two dunners. I was curious as to the general rejection, not yours specifically. Also, is the morph a desirable morph? I like it for the traits it possessed, the tail pattern, and the random scales. Plus they look a little beefier. I do plan to have a few seasonal clutches (obviously not as pair), thats if I am able to find good homes for them.

Also I found a lot of the same statements about sketchy breeders. I made my decision by researching some of the best breeders. There are quite a few really high quality breeders. I chose to go with 2 smaller breeders who have already purchased high quality dragons from the variety of different reputable breeders with what appeared to me to have strong bloodlines. Dunners, or not these guys are cool with me lol. Thanks for the feedback again. This forum is a great place, and has helped me a lot already.
