I've had Mushu since Christmas eve. He's about 5 months old I believe. He hasn't pooped since he's been here. He's eating crickets very well (also, can't get him to eat any vegetables yet). Not sure how normal this is??? Also, should I only get a nighttime bulb if the temp drops below 65 degrees at night? I have one, just not sure if it is necessary. Thanks!

Congratulations. Hes a little young to be eating veggies. Offer them every day but he'll be a little bit older before he acquires a taste for them.

If the temp goes below 65 you can use a heat lamp. No light – it interrupts their sleep.

Sometimes it takes them a couple of weeks to get used to new people new home new surroundings. Can you hold him? If you can - gently stroke his belly down to the tail. Easy. Exercise will also help - running around his cage. You can also give him a bath - start with shallow luke warm water. Only for a few minutes. Hes a new kid - just starting to figure things out.

Let us know

And – we like pics!

Tried the bath yesterday and no luck. Seams like he enjoyed it though:) He's active and eating crickets well. Just worries me. Hopefully he's okay.

Okay BREATHE! The best word of advise I ever got was to stop freaking out over every little thing they do or don't do. Of course I do still freak out (thanks Canicke for calming me down) but I don't let the small things get to me. What we think is not normal can be perfectly normal for them.

Sometimes they can go a week or a bit longer without pooping. Things to try: Give a good warm soak in a bath and drip water on his nose, he will either lick it or it will hopefully just drip in his mouth. Try offering a sliver of apple or some applesauce on a spoon with a drop of olive oil on it, that will help get things flowing so to say. Make sure the basking temperature is 105-110 or even a bit higher. They need the high temps to help them digest their food.
