EMERGENY!! BEARDIE WITH PROBLEMS

Hello. Cheese is currently having some problems, and I am wondering if you had these problems as well when you took care of him. He seems to not be eating anything, or eating very little, but going to the bathroom often. His waste used to not smell too much, but now it is starting to smell so bad that I need to use a mask to prevent breathing the horrible smell. The stench of his poop sometimes goes all around the first floor. I am currently giving him collared greens and super worms as the usual, and I have a good basking bulb and large strip UVB light. I dust his vegetables with calcium too. Also, when I hold him, he used to be a little fidgety, but he is mostly limp when I hold him and doesn’t seem to care anymore. He also closes his eyes a lot more and is lethargic. Any help would be good!! Thank you!!
-2 years old
-basking temp and UVB good. I got through a whole phase figuring all the lighting stuff out, and trust me, it is good according to many users of this forum
-eats collards with multivitamins and calcium,

Where is the UVB in the tank? What is it a T 5 or a T 8 --- being lethargic is not good -- what are his basking temps and how are you taking them? infrared heat gun digital probe or stick ons? How long as he been like this? I would get a hold of a reptile vet call and see if you can bring a fecal in have it tested and go from there -------------- but your lighting plays a huge role in their behavior and overall health ---
The UVB is next to the basking spot. It is a T 5, and it is 6 inches away from the beard. The basking temp is 103, and I am taking them with a reptile thermometer probe. He has been like this for a month - month and half. I will try to get the fecal testing soon. Do I have to bring the beardie's waste to the hero store? I never tested the feces before.

That poop description sounds like possible parasites. Are you able to get a fecal check at the vet?
Yes, but not for a while. :( . my parents aren't that serious about going somewhere 35 minutes away for my beardie. I probably will be able to go in about a week hopefully.

That's better than never! Just do what you can for now to keep him warm and hydrated until then.

I agree, keep him warm and bathe him every couple days at least and get him to a vet with a fresh stool sample asap, the bad smelling poo is usually not a good thing, his lack of eating and lethargic behavior could ether be early signs of brumation or it could be signs of a bad parasite infection ether way a vet visit is the only way to find out and to make sure hes getting the treatment needed before its to late.

My bearded dragon is gaping his mouth now. The humidity is under 40%, and it really shouldn't be a humidity problem because where I live right now, it is extremely dry. He sometimes gapes his mouth and weird times, and shakes his head like crazy after for about 5 seconds. He sometimes does this when he is not below his basking lamp.

the T 5 is it on top of tank or inside the tank-???????????????? If its on top of screen 6 inches is good---- if its inside the tank it is NOT good --- it is too close if its inside the tank ----- inside 12-15 inches away from basking spot ---- you can call the vets office ask to drop off a fecal for testing of parasites for a bd dragon --- ask how much it cost --- you will need to get a fresh sample and put in a paper towel in a ziploc bag - if you haft to store in the fridge unless you can get there right away --- does the poop smell really bad like you need to leave the room -? is it runny ? it should have form and moisture not dried out or urate chalky looking --- parasites make the poop smell really bad and will make you leave the room smell --- answer these questions before taking him to the vet ----
The t5 is 11 inches away from the dragon, and it is inside. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I don't know how I got 11 and 6 mixed up together. I will try to get the fecal testing. The poop smells so bad that I need to leave the room, and the smell causes other rooms to smell bad too. The poop is really runny, but has some form. I usually see a big puddle of dried liquid (dried because he poops right under the basking spot all the time).

Bad news everybody. My bearded dragon passed away, and it is my fault that I didn't go to the vet earlier. I am sorry to all of the good beardie owners that I was not a good owner. :(
