How are you measuring the temperature ilovebeardies? It sounds like your thermometer may be off. A 150 watt light at 12" should be getting a lot hotter than 90F.

Also, what part of the states are you in? We might be able to recommend a vet that can see your dragon. Always good to get a check up with a new animal anyway.

That's all well....... But I also have a custom viv Melamine and tempered glass for the front....... And I use a 50 Watt basking bulb and it makes me temps 120 at 12".

You may want to look into that....... Or put temp prob directly under your basking bulb at the highest point of your basking area... Because that doesnt seem right with that bulb

The size of your enclosure shouldnt affect the basking temperature in that direction really, but glad to hear you have a nice big enclosure for him. How big is it? Sounds like your thermometer might be going haywire on you though, or perhaps you have the probe in an unusual place. I dont have anything higher than a 70 watt in any of my enclosures and get 110F or more at 15", depending on the surface.

As for finding a vet, not sure if any of these are closer for you, but worth taking a look:

Well I have just the cheap dial gauge not the digital thermometer so my guess is its crap. I have no Idea on the dimensions of the Viv but its very large I believe cherry wood. But its separated in two right now I have my male and female on one side then my juvenile female on the other at the moment. Plan is to move juvenile too another Viv hopefully soon so each have more room. I cannot remember the vets name I scheduled with but he's in kinsman,oh about 45min from me. Just about all the vets I called through vet finder didn't see reptiles or where very far away. I have bad luck :( oh Quasimodo who my post is about is actually separate in 40 gallon breeder. Because of how thin and sickly looking if he had a parasite I didn't want to pass it to the other 3.

Make sure to get yourself a temp gun or a prob temp gauge...... Your temp in basking spot is probably pretty high....

If your one does have parasites make sure you wash your hands or use sanitizer before touching any one of your other beardies..... Also feed with different tongs etc....... Can be passed very easily

Could you post a picture of Quasimodo's enclosure for us to see? We might be able to offer suggestions to help you get your basking temps right. That is pretty important right now as the temps you were talking about before don't allow for proper digestion. Hard to say now if its the thermometer or the bulb

Yes I will post pics in the morning also Quasimodo came to me in this condition his previous owner let me see the tank he was in which was way to small for two large bearded dragons. The bulbs produce heat the gauge is faulty I ordered a digital one should be here Friday hopefully.
