drastic color change question.

I just got my beardie a couple of days ago, when I picked him up at the pet shop he/she had bright color. here is a pic

It's a red, but now when I brought him home, he became really dark.
now he looks like this

And its not the lighting of the photo. lol. you can see his head is noticeably darker.
Is this a sign of getting ready to shed? and he also has the "stress mark" very visible on his belly, anything to be concerned about? thanks

Good looking little dragon. When they're getting ready to shed their skin does appear to be darker. Mood & temperature can also affect their color as well as lighting. As long as your dragon has a proper diet, enclosure & lighting it will be fine.

thanks, hes on a cricket diet and I bath him once a day, now he's starting to scratch the walls and always avoiding me, I'm a little scared to hold him b/c he might just jump and run away.

he's cute! just keep working with him and he will tame down. the little ones have to be skittish to survive!
