Hi!

I have a 6 year old bearded dragon that suddenly stopped eating any salad or veggies. It's been around 3-4 months now and no matter what I try (and I'v tried EVERYTHING) she wont eat veggies. Before this she loved salads and would gobble them down everyday. She stills eats her live food just fine. And since she stopped eating vegetation she has constipation. I need some vegetable supplement or something..... I have heard that you can use baby food like this..... True?? Any other veggie supplements I can give her with a syringe that anybody knows about?? At this point I doubt she'll ever eat salad again because it has been so long since she refused to touch them.

It is a little strange but not unheard of. It might be for a number of reasons. I would continue to offer greens at all times. Is this a female that cycles often? How has her egg production gone in the past? Any problems? Do you gut load her live food? MIght also be worth it to double check all your enclosure parameters like temps, humidity etc.

Also while she is not eating the salad you can give her sokes to encourage hydration. Horn worms are also a good source of hydration. That sould help with constipation. I would definitely look into everything jarich said though.

Kelly, I have the same problem. Dexter is almost 2 and won't eat her salad. I still offer it every day. I trick her by gut loading her feeders with it. Horn worms help too because they sick to her greens and she ends up eating both at the same time.

I am having the same problem with my dragon. She came out of brumation last week and seems to only want worms or crickets. She looks at her salad but doesn't eat more than a couple mouthfuls. Even when I offered shredded carrots and peppers she didn't eat much. And those used to be a favorite treat! She looks at her kale and collards like they are poison. Even STRAWBERRIES, that she used to like just lay on the bottom of her dish!

My daughter said maybe she needs the extra protein after brumating and when she gets her fill of that she will eat her greens.

Meantime, is her eating only worms, etc. a concern?

@Honchess Keep offering her the greens, she'll eat them eventually. She might eat them when you aren't looking. You can also feed your feeders her salad too this way she'll get the nutrients in a round about way.
