So I have to beardies one male which is 2 1/2 and a female that’s 5 when I put them together to mate they do the normal mating things like head bobbing and all that but have started to bite and the male hasn’t actually mated at all so I separated it to prevent any harm

Yes as long as they're both healthy and up to age.
