so my darling Rolly girl, she's around 7-8 years old now, seems to have at some point ended up with this strange dark stuff in the front of her mouth?

she's starting to shed a bit but i dont remember seeing this happen before and im not exactly sure when it appeared since i just noticed it today while feeding her [hence the calcium powder all over her face and beard, she is quite the messy eater]
she's been acting totally normally otherwise- loves being handled, GREAT appetite, ect.

with her starting to get up there in age im concerned for her health a lot, is this something i should be worried about?

thanks in advance!

One response I got
It doesn't look like anything really unusual but in might be the beginning of mouth rot. If you can't get his mouth open and you want to get a peek in there you can put a dab of something that he will lick off like canned pumkin or a bit of raw honey. While he's doing that try to see if his gums look reddish or if there is any crud or cheesy looking substance visible.

Hello,

I agree, I don't think it appears to be mouth rot. If she is getting ready to shed his mouth area, that could
explain excess saliva sometimes.
As Sadie suggested, raw unpasteurized honey is extremely helpful with infections & is safe to use on &
in the mouth & gum area.
Is he eating normally?
