so i hear u have to cook the times, i think mine or porcelain, how long and what temp do i put them in the oven?

If you are baking slate tiles, watch so they don't break. I have had 12" slate tiles break in my old stove. I now only steam my slate because I got a new stove and don't want the slate to crumble in my oven.

You could steam them or use a vinegar/water solution and rinse thoroughly.

dont think we have any vinegar, does bleach work as well?

Bleaching will increase time out of the enclosure... you'll have to wait for the fumes to go away... You can bake Ceramics @ 250*F for an hour or two...

if i wash the tiles with some bleach how long do i have to leave them out?

Rinse a couple of times really well. Then leave them out in the sun for awhile.

Sorry...there really isnt a time to leave them out, just until you can't smell them.

When I used bleach to clean, I would rinse and rinse and rinse until I could no longer smell bleach on it.
