cleaning my viv ( just found out what viv stood for lol)

What is the best way to clean my viv ? I don't have an xtra carpet ( yet) but I do have non slip shelf liner, can I replace the carpet with that until the carpet dries? Also I haven't bought any type of cleaners so any suggestions on cleaning it with stuff I would most likely have ( storm seems to be very messy) I swear he sheads every other day! I hope that means he's growing

Warm water with a touch of dishsoap should be plenty of cleanliness...
