Ok so you want the T 5 approx

ok so you want the T 5 approx 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor piece - take the screen off if you can - you will probably haft to get a lower piece of decor for her
Sadie, here’s a picture of the new tank with Poppy in it. She was hiding underneath the platform. The fixture of the T5 can’t go inside on top. So it’s only sitting outside. We unfortunately couldn’t find a suitable cover for the tank, very awkward to open from the right side and stretch my arm over to the left in order to feed her or get her out…. Will have to search for a better cover but it has not been easy. Today she popped her head out but didn’t want to get out. I gave her some worms, and she gobbled them down quickly. Then she went back to hide. So I’m thinking about giving her a bath to help her digest. Still not sure if she’s in brumation or not. It doesn’t look like she’s sick (especially with good appetite), but she just wouldn’t come out.

Is your screen a wide hole type of screen or a fine mesh like a screen door? Also the basking platform what is the surface basking temp on it?
It’s wide hole screen about 1/8”. The surface temperature on the platform is 96F.

Ok so the wide hole it can stay on top distance should be 8-10 inches directly above the basking platform--- the temp is good --- as long as everything on that end is good she is probably semi brumating -- she is going to go thru relocation stress so her eating is going to be off -- just watch her behavior her adjusting is different from every dragon - you have everything from her other tank in the new one --

The cover of the old tank is hinged on the long dimension which is much easier to get her in and out of the tank, but it is too short for the new tank leaving a small opening (Zilla screen cover). Is it bad to have an opening on top of the tank?

No unless she can get out or you have cats that can get into the tank

Great. She can’t get out and we don’t have cats. Is it safe to give her a bath if she’s brumating? I’ve no idea how long it’d last. Worried about dehydration. Poppy doesn’t usually drink from her water bowl nor during bath. She gets her water from eating her vegetables or when I drip water on her head. But now she’s not eating any greens or taking much from water drops.

Is she sleeping in the cave / hide or just laying awake looking out ? We often recommend getting them out every 10-14 days to offer water - and to get a weight check on them - so please weigh her on a kitchen food scale weigh in grams and keep track of her weight - they tend to lose some in brumation so that is not uncommon if shes losing a lot of weight like 20 grams or more then there is a issue - semi brumation is when the will sleep for a week or so then come out to bask and then maybe go back in again and sleep some more - my two dragons have never fully done the brumation thing - they will sleep for a few days or a week then come out bask eat a little not much - I usually just follow their lead and tend to them as needed -

She actually is awake looking out. This morning her head was completely out. Should I get her to the basking spot and weigh her?

Get a weight on her so you have somewhere to start - it sounds like shes being lazy - let her do what she wants - when shes awake you can offer food see if she will eat -

ok looks like shes eating - I wouldnt worry about her --- for relocating her its good shes eating - sometimes it completely throws them off --
Only thing is that she doesn’t like to stay at the basking spot much so I’m not sure how she digests food. She did explore the new tank for a little bit today and then go back to hide.
