I sound dumb but the other day my bearded dragon climbed onto my neck and I swear his claws were piercing my skin
Tile is the best substrate... fight me.Yes you can only the sharp tips though. That is the reason why a lot of beardie owners like to use tile as substrate. The tile will help with the claws.
I'm not gonna do it because of thisYes, you can clip a BD's claws.
When you're clipping their claws make sure that you don't clip into the white under nail.
If you clip that he will start bleeding badly.
If I were you, I would look it up real quick so that you might find a picture, which will explain it better than I can.
Thanks,
BDD
Oh, I would still do it, as long as you think you can.I'm not gonna do it because of this
Take him to a vet it’s $20 to trim their claws. U can I hit them severely doing it yourself.I sound dumb but the other day my bearded dragon climbed onto my neck and I swear his claws were piercing my skin
oh i see okSome pet stores offer nail clipping for a small fee (look for an exotic pet specialist store), or you can ask your vet to do it. It's easier than it seems to clip nails, especially if you have a second person hold the beardie because you can get a better view of the nail. If you don't clip his nails, they can grow backwards into his feet and cause problems. Have a rag and some styptic powder or cornstarch on hand in case you cut into the vein.

But in general DONOT do it yourself; u can injure a Beardie very easily. The vets we work with are very skilled & we never tell any Beardie owner to do it themselves. Just find a good reptile vet and have them do it it’s between $18-$20.oh i see ok
Also white terry cloth towels 2-3 layers in the area they poop are great coz when they poop u remove it and place new ones.I love using tile and paper towel
