When would be the best time to cut back on my beardies heat lamp to allow him to brumate?

You need to wait for him to give you the sign -- do not cut back on the heat - he will go into his cave and not come out - dragons vary w/ length of time and if they are doing semi or full brumation -- all dragons are different -- here is a link to read about brumation
