I’ve been searching for more information about what really happens when your beardie is brumating and not finding the answers I’m looking for.
About a month ago, my beardie started acting differently...almost brooding. His appetite decreased and within a week he entered his hide and went to sleep. I had posted a question with my concern for his pooping at that time.
He slept in his hide for about a week, woke up, ate some silkworms, pooped and about a day later went back to his hide to sleep. 2-3 days later, he emerged and the same repeated, except he was awake for a couple of days. This is how it’s been for at least the past week.
I haven’t turned off his heat or uvb lights during any of this. Basking temps are around 100-105 and hide temp is mid to low 80’s. Although he is my first/only beardie, I have been diligent in my husbandry for him and my other reptiles.
Is this how ‘normal’ brumation goes with the wake/sleep pattern or should I be making a vet visit? I took him to the vet when I first got him back in February and he had a clean bill of health and fecal.
