Black spots?

Ive noticed that early in the morning my young beardies chin has little black spots that stop at about his shoulders, but then fade an hour or so after his basking light is turned back on. Is this just a reaction to the cooler temp at night? I also noticed him scratching his face against his basking rock last night, so is he just getting ready to shed? I'll try to get a picture of it to post.

It's totally normal for beardies to get darker when they're chilly. My gal is almost entirely purple when she wakes up, and bright yellow when she's warm. Their color changes are incredible.

The rubbing could definitely be shedding behavior. If it's only at night, it could be that he's trying to find a comfy sleeping spot. My little dude rubs and scratches at corners in his enclosure after the lights go out, searching for a dark place to hide if there's any light from the other room. Silly little babies, our dragons.

And you should definitely post photos, whether there's an issue or not. If the question is photos, the answer is yes! We're gluttons for adorable dragons here :)

Sounds like they are just stress marks. Which we all decided is a stupid name for them because they aren't always caused from stress. Could be caused from being too hot or too cold or just in a bad mood.

Yes we love pictures of adorable dragons :)
