Black Beard Question

Hi! As I have mentioned in previous posts my beardie has been about to shed for awhile and he had a black beard which I thought was from the stress of shedding. Anyways, he is done shedding and he still has a black beard...the only time the black beard goes away is when I take him out and pet or snuggle with him. The minute I put him back in his tank his black beard comes back. The temperature is what it should be and I have all the right lights, so I am at a loss as to what in the tank could be stressing him out so much. He does fall asleep at night and is in the same spot the next morning, so I know he's not too stressed to sleep in his tank. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!:)

Bearded Dragons will display black beards for many reasons. Does not necessarily mean bad things. My Dinah was a very amiable Dragon with humans, not so when around other Dragons. But she displayed a black or dark beard more often than not, the majority of her life. If all your husbandry is correct, she's eatin' & poopin', I wouldn't worry about it.

My beardie does the same thing to me. He is real dark in his tank and when I take him out and give him some love he turns light!! Go figure!! :D

Seeing your beardie get a blackbeard for the first time is a shocker!! I think mine did it in the bath when I took him out. I guess he must have been ticked off at me....lol!! These little creatures are full of surprises!!

It's just weird because he never did it when he was a baby so that's another reason I was more concerned. I am relieved to know that a lot of beardies always have a black beard and it's not always bad but It seems a little unusual for Baby. Who knows! I'll try not to worry about it too much!

Mine was running from one side of his home to another like he wanted me to get him out so I did and he was all crazy looking lol. He's bit me once and I was afraid he was mad and going to bite me in the face.
