Sent you a list of vets in the US and in Canada. There has to be somebody there that will do a fecal and not charge a fee of $300 for an office visit. Realize that any vet can do one. A fecal is the easiest best place to start. Depending on how that comes out we can figure out the next step.

I know 1st hand on herp vets and what they charge for faecals. It is a bit rediculous. And my closest one is really far away.
So I called around to ALL vets in the area and I found one who wasnt a herp vet but he said he has all the tools nescessary to do a faecal and he would be happy to help me in future. He even phoned the herp vet and confirmed his solutions and equipment was up to standard. They also gave him a crash course over the phone on what to specifically look for in a reptiles faecal. He charges 1/2 the cost of the herp vet for a faecal and said if ANYTHING looked out of the ordinary or more serious than expected he would refer me to a herp vet. But for common parasites/worm issues he can treat that s well.

Unfortunately Pogies issues were more serious than parasites, but a few phone calls can make a difference in vet bills.

Hope all is well with yours. Update us when you have some news

Hope your dragon is doing better mate.

As the other peeps said already (not that I'm trying to re-start this) vet bills are unfortunately a way of life if you are going to have pets. Myself and the wife had plans to go to tropical North QLD by next week for a bit of a herping and bird watching trip but that trip got canned two months ago as my bulldog blew out his right knee. Short story we are out 3K to have it repaired (knee reconstruction) so I would have loved a $300 bill instead (to put things in perspective). Sadly though now I won't be going on walkabouts up north and no nice pics for you guys of the OZ bush. *sigh*

PS the dog is all better and recovered.

Good to hear you dog is doing better. Vet bills always seem to come at bad times. Last year we had some money put away to do a long weekend getaway with the kids and the cat hurt his ear and had to have surgery. That was $500 we were not expecting to spend. Who would think the cat would have got an injury common to a long eared dog.

Anyway, vet bills are a pain in the butt but part of the pet owning process as the others have stated
