They get dull and it looks like waxy.

Hef sheds in sections. It's tail time. Warm baths help it along. Never pull at it but Hef appreciates a little help with the loose stuff.

Yea he definitely look waxy in the picture. Not so much when I'm just looking at him, but I can tell his color isn't the same. Looks like it's bath time tomorrow hopefully he won't freak out to bad. I want his blue to come back that's the reason I chose this little guy. Lol

Be prepared their colors change hopefully your blue will stay. Hef loves his bath now he falls asleep when he's supposed to be pooping. I kept him on my hand and reassured him in the bath when he was little . Warm but not too much they don't feel heat from their belly.

Yea I heard that the water temperature should be around 90°F and that I should put something in there for him to climb up on if he wanted to.

Hefs tail has been like that for 4 days it can take a bit for it to go. Stay close on the forum brummation can be really hard on us the first timers . Hef went down in mid October and didn't eat or drink until mid MARCH . It's totally normal for them. All dragons vary in how long. He didn't lose a drop of weight.

You can always tape the background to the inside of the tank to help with the reflection.. I think with the reflection issue being resolved things will get better between you and him.. Just take your time and don't show fear as they know..

I would be cautious of the fake plants. You don't want your dragon to make a mistake and ingest the fake plants. That could be fatal.
You have what I like to call a "normal" bearded dragon. These are mostly pet store bought dragons-not specially bred for color. Your dragon will most likely lose the blue/purple as it begins to shed. You will notice the skin looks darker and grayish, and then it will begin to come off.

The plants that he has in there he won't be able to eat. Well there is one that he might be able to pull apart when he gets bigger. But thank you I didn't know that they were bad for them. Also I hope he turn out to be a nice color hopefully the blue will stay. I have know people to get leatherbacks from PetSmart so I have a little hope.

He's like umm alittle privacy please?? lol Yea it just takes some time for them to get used to baths. You can put a rock or a washcloth in there for something to get some traction.

Well he finally shed the day after his bath. I didn't think it would be so quick but he did it all while I was at work. He's still cranky though. When will he ever get use to me.

He will settle just give him time :) Little ones can be skittish at first, so make sure your not going over his head casting a shadow from above..come from in front of him so he see's you coming. Talk softly and don't move quickly around him..
