Hi Tracie, the urates had like a pinkish colour to them and sometimes there would be a separate piece of something a bit red ( i'm sure it was not a piece of a veggie) but it looked like blood. I am not sure of the sex but i can check. He was prescribed enrofloxacine as a antibiotic and meloxicam as a painkiller. But i did not give any of the meds because i read here you should not give your dragon meds without a proper diagnosis. He is doing well, no black beard, normal colour and behavior, He eats great, the pinkness in his urates are gone now aswell. The only problem right now is the watery poop ( i mean like a big pool of water) and the undigested pieces of veggies. I don't have a water bowl but i do wash the veggies and greens before i give them, but i do not think he could be overhydrated because of that.

The watery poop just means hes hydrated and they will poop it out --the undigested is still the greens? Odd since its normally the insects - I sent Tracie a message maybe she can shed some light on this -
Okay, if it is just excess water, would it be necessary to do something about that or can that be considerd normal. And yes it is still the greens, i have not seen any digisted bugs lately. I can send a picture, if you need.

Hello,

Is he having loose stools still? It can be normal for them to have a lot of excess fluids along with the
urates, etc but not diarrhea though. Are you giving probiotics while he is on the Baytril & meloxicam?

Hi Tracie, he is still having the loose stools, like i said i haven't given him any medication yet, because i read here that you should not give medication without a proper diagnosis. I stopped giving him sweet potato and now there is more excess water has returned to the amount it was before i started on the sweet potato, i also stopped giving him belgian endive en started patting down his washed greens with paper towel to remove any water to see if that will make a difference.

Hi there, an update: he is still having the loose stools and i want to bring him into the vet again. Are there any specific things i can ask that they check to help us figure out what is causing the loose stools? Thank you in advance. @Drache613

Hello,

The primary thing needed is to do another fecal exam, to see if something was missed initially.
Ok good. We do recommend not just automatically giving medication if no diagnosis has been given most of the time. There are always exceptions. Such as a general deworming is safe to do, & a lot of people treat for coccidia as well.
It sounds like to me it could be coccidia but not positive.
Is he eating pretty well right now?
It doesn't sound like anything you are feeding him should technically cause the more loose stools.

Let us know how he is doing & when you go to the vets.

Hi there, he is eating well, and besides the loose stools he is doing well, (relatively) active, no black bearding etc. I am going to call the vet today to do another fecal sample and maybe check him again

Hi yes, i took another stool sample to the vet and asked them to check on coccidia extra well but it was negative again. I switched him back from escarole and sweet potato to escarole, green beans and some bell pepper to see if that would change another but it just changed his stools into what they were before the sweet potato( a water pool).

So the sweet potato firmed the stool up or make it watery?

Stop the bell pepper and see what happens-
I already had, before the watery stools a gave a variety of greens and when the watery stools started i started giving only sweet potato and escarole, that firmed it up a bit but is was still watery. A few days ago i switched back to escarole, bell pepper and green beans but it did not help, so now i am giving only escarole and sweet potato again.

Ok so please post a pic of the next poop and I am going to have someone else take a look at this post- it may be the dragon just has runny stools

This poop was today, and it was the first one in a few days that had undigested greens in it, or atleast as much as in this poop.

Here is what one has said and the other person agreed
These can be tough to diagnose because so many factors could be at play. I would keep monitoring the stool samples for parasites (not often, just once or twice a year at vet appointments). And keep making small tweaks to diet to see if a difference is noted. If parasites aren't the source of the issue, then it might not be a critical concern. If they receive enough hydration to make up for what is lost then they seem to do pretty well long term, based on my experiences. It's possible that this is something similar to IBS and isn't treatable aside from dietary adjustments.
