I got into the habit of letting Iggy wake up & warm up for a while, then I feed him until he is content, then I get his warm bath ready & he soaks for a bit until he poops, then I put him back into his home to warm up & start his day.. there are days when I work before he wakes up & I feed him when I get home & he has not pooped, so I put him in his bath & right away he goes..
I read that 3 baths a week is good, is it bad for him to have a daily 10-15 min soak?

Daily baths is overkill, these are desert creatures, not many puddles to jump into there. It is like giving a daily enema, whether it is ready to come out or not, a warm bath will usually induce a bowel movement. 2-3 times a week is lots if they are not eating greens, once a week is more than enough if they are. Upped if in shed & is starting to peel. They'll poop when nature says they need to, should not be when we force them to.

Ok, makes sense. I leave greens for him everyday & so far he won't touch them.. so ill cut back to 2-3x.. do they usually poop once a day?

Some once a day, most juveniles do, some twice, others will skip a day or 3 here & there. They will poop when they need to. I never get worried until I haven't seen a poop for over a week. Once older adults, they can & will go a long time between poops. My 7 - 9 year olds often only regularly went weekly, sometimes longer. Don't need to eat as much because they are not as active & a bigger cavity to fill I guess, 2 of them were over 700 grams ;).

Impaction is not near as common as everyone seems to believe. Yet it seems to get blamed for an awful lot, which generally really just boils down to poor husbandry &\or improper temps.

My beardie pooped 3 times today!!! And he didn't eat one darn thing today, but he ate a lot yesterday, so that explains his multiple poops. What a full belly he must have had!;)

yep!! ask away with any question or concern.....there is no such thing as a stupid question :D
Well, in that case.. lil Iggy often closes one eye at a time.. he will be looking at me, then he'll close his eye, ill look at the other one & its open.. then he will open the closed one & close the open one.. is this normal? Is there something wrong?

I think he is playin' with you just to see if you will play with him!! :) Does he do this all the time? Maybe you can sneak up at him to see if both eyes are open. My Spike has his eyes open all the time unless he is sleeping!! LOL!!:D

Now that I think about it.. yes Germ, every time I've noticed it has been under the UVB. I put foil in the fixture for more UVB as you suggested, but I noticed him doing this even before that.
So if he closes his right eye, I move to that side so he can't see me & he will open it & close the left eye.. so I move to that side so he can't see me & he opens it & closes the other.. its not all the time, but very noticeable & I wanted to bring it to your attention rather than brush it off as nothing.

My BD Stitch does the same thing under the UVB light, i though it was nothing until i read this post.
Stitch is about a couple of months old 5-6 inches. is the bulb to strong, to close?

If this only happens when he is looking at you, it could be just a quirk in your BDs personality. But if it is happening the majority of the time that both eyes are closed while basking when no one is around, you may have a bad UVB bulb.

Well, I notice it when I'm checking him out & he's looking at me.. ill have to start looking out for it when he's just going about his business. Should I take the foil out of the light fixture? I have the reptisun 10.0. Brand new bulb.. I have occasionally noticed him basking with his eyes closed mouth open.. I just thought he must be really enjoying it. What do you suggest I do?

Gaping with eyes closed is quite normal while basking. I'd watch for when he is basking normally, mouth closed, if it is continually closing it's eyes & possible watering or discharge from the eyes, there may be a problem. BDs will bask with their eyes closed periodically & this is normal, but having them closed the majority of the time while basking is not & is a symptom of Photo Kerato Conjunctivitis. I would do nothing until you notice the symptoms above, if you notice them, then try removing the foil & see if that helps, but it should not make a difference & you said you noticed this behavior prior to installing it. Photo Kerato Conjunctivis is not caused by too strong of UVB, but by the presence of unwanted low level radiation in the UVC spectrum produced by a Bad Bulb.

Photo Kerato Conjuctivitis, to give a better understanding of the symptoms & discomfort, has been compared to us suffering from Welders Flash. If you do see these symptoms & it continues after removing the foil, shut off the UVB bulb completely for 2-3 days. If things improve, the bulb must be replaced, because you have a bad bulb, which does happen from time to time with any manufacturer. PKC is completely reversible with proper lighting.
