Basking soot help

I bought my beardie a 40 gallon breeder tank today. His old basking spot was a piece of driftwood but in the larger tank, i cannot get this branch to lay right or be at the correct height.

Could i build a rock basking spot? I figure this is where they spend a lot of time in and around hot rocks in the wild.

Sure. I use bricks and cinderblocks. Pavers and stepping stones are great, too. Gotta love the home depot...
