Basking Light?

Hi all,

How long should the basking light be on in the daytime? My local pet store owner told me 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening but something didn't sound right about that as I have owned other reptiles and the basking/UVB lamps should both be on the same time the sun is out trying to mimic the exact environment.. Anyways a confirmation would be helpful.. Also I have a 55 gal Aquarium and a 100 watt bulb.. please tell me if that is sufficient as I know they're basking spot is 100-110 (? confirmation needed?)..

All lights UVB and Basking should be on 12-14 hours a day
Some ppl like to have a 14/10 schedule during summer and a 12/12 during winter
Yes basking for babaies/juvies between 105 and 110
Over 18 mnths of age around 100
