Okay so yeah... Had some bad news yesterday, It seems Cookie had to go. Three weeks we had him and three weeks we tried our hardest! We did everything for the little guy but he just wouldn't eat properly and he wasn't growing well. Yesterday I couldn't take it anymore, I couldn't stand seeing him this way so I rung the pet shop I got him from and complained. To which they asked me to come instore and explained the situation the batch he was from was a bad one simply... The stores reptiles specialist was on holiday when they came in and yeah he wasn't happy basically. Since this he's had no further dealings with that breeder and he ensures me he never will again. He gave us a choice anyway... He would personally take Cookie and try and save the poor little fella he was so small, else we could take him home again and try some more. He went over our full setup and food etc and knew we were doing everything we could. However me and my girlfriend decided the best thing to do would be to keep Cookie with someone who knows more about what there doing. So yeah, all we can do now is pray he can save Cookie. It seems he may have just been born that way. ):

Some good news... The pet store wanted to make it up to us for what we'd been through so they offered us a replacement for Cookie first and we didn't want to take them up on this offer. It just didn't seem right to replace the little guy we loved, this was until ofc we saw there dragons. We saw a sandfire cross female who was just gorgeous and only slightly larger than our male at home. So we took her! ^_^ They also gave us some hoppers free to help me start breeding them, the hoppers I mean. So yeah we now have our male and female beardies...

Pics later today maybe guys. I just wanted the news to be out at the moment. Thanks so much to everyone who tried to help me with Cookie it meant a lot to me.

Aw, what a horrible situation to be in. I'm sure you made the right decision. It is hard to let a loved one go, but it sounds like the pet store is responsible and will do everything in its nature to save Cookie. We'll keep the little one in our hearts.

Congrats on the new family member. Can't wait to her.

Well I really didn't wanna see Cookie go, I just didn't see any other choice though... He wasn't staying with the pet store either, the reptile specialist who works there was taking him home. I can only hope he'll be able to save him, my main worries are maybe it was my fault. =/

That's actually good news. Maybe best for all involved. Glad to hear you were able to get a replacement. Not easy, but probably the right thing.

Shame, sorry you had to let Cookie go.. But like you said, probably better for a specialist to try.

Congrats on the new addition, looking forward to hear and "See" her (Hint.. hint...)

Hey....I am really sorry you had to go through that. It is really hard #1 to return your little guy and #2 to "replace" him. You did everything you could for Cookie. The specialist is right...sometimes a clutch of babies just isn't a healthy bunch. Really depends on the breeder. Unfortunately with pet stores, you don't know who's breeding. I am glad that the specialist isn't going to do business with that breeder any longer. Let's just hope he really doesn't.

Good luck with your new guy/girl. Can't wait for pics.

BTW, before you get him/her home, I would suggest cleaning out the tank and making sure everything is nice and newly cleaned/sterilized for your new guy.

Sorry Cookie had to go but you did the right thing by him even if it was hard to do. You did not do anything wrong so try not to feel that way as hard as it is. Some things are just out of our control but you showed how much you loved him by giving him to someone who knows more on how to help him.

Can't wait to see your new one.

Thanks for all the nice words everyone and yeah things are better now. The male and female are living together and they couldn't have honestly got on better. The female is slightly bigger so she's taken on the dominent role as expected however she's not actually controlling him? She's doing the head bobbin routine and standing on him enough but eating wise tbh he eats first and generally eats more than her...? :') Yet he's also the one arm waving... Quite weird lol. Anyway yeah, pics later when I get chance, just had to do feeding time moved onto hoppers now, I HATE CRICKETS!!! an can't really afford Dubia Roaches atm lol so yeah. Hoppers it is but they LOVE them so I'm happy. ^_^

May I share a concern with you, dear?
Male and female usually means breeding and eggs, fertile eggs. Together also means once that male hits his "stride", will be constantly "covering" her, and that can be quite stressful, as well as possibly change the status of dominance in the enclosure...
I would encourage you to look into a second enclosure, just for one, complete set up, out of sight of the first.
Both will grow, and be happier, and healthier in the long run.
And... you won't have to deal with all the issues of gravid female, eggs and what not.
Hope this helps out .

Planned this already, don't worry. :) We're just taking advantage of them both being youngish atm and the fact it means less space and money for now. :)

Good to hear, Like that the female is dominating the male. I was going to tell you that you may not want to do this but them Janie beat me to the post. It is good that you plan to separate them.
