Guys, I just noticed Dexter has this weird coloration on her tongue today. Looks like she sucked on a cherry popcicle. Nothing is different in her tank. This week her salad consists of collard greens, zucchini and the occasional blueberry. These are all foods she's eaten before and honestly she doesn't really eat it. Salad is dusted with either calcium powder without D3 or a multivitamin. I found that she is more interested in her salad if it's dusted. The only real difference is this week she's gotten hornworms which are her favorite.

She's not eating any different not acting like she's in pain, there's no swelling. This started today and yesterday I tried to get her to open her mouth so I can check things out. I never got her to open so maybe this is just a form of stress? Or maybe it's nothing.

Some tongue. You may consult a vet if you're concerned. It looks like she's got good circulation.

I didn't even think that it could just be normal circulation. This was her 3rd worm she was going after so maybe the blood got flowing to her tongue. I'm going to see what it looks like when I feed her today. After reading all these stories lately of bearded dragons dying I just go into worried momma mode. I went on vacation a few weeks ago and left them alone for 2 days, while away I read that chameleons can just die, no reason, you just wake up and they are dead. I completely freaked out, I couldn't get home fast enough to make sure mine was okay! He was. This morning Luci had grey/blue poop and I had to smoosh it around and see what was in it. It was blueberries! I am so glad that I don't have human children, I would be such a reck!

lol. Smooshed it around and it was a blueberry.

I've got a maturing nutso girl. No digging around, but I swear, she has boundless energy. Where it comes from is way beyond me.:rolleyes:

looks normal my boy is a total sucker for blueberries', its his favorite. And it does make his tongue red as a cherry. He also squirts the blue berry all over so it looks like a blood bath haha

I think it was just blood flow since she doesn't really eat much of the fruit I give her. I noticed it on Luci's tongue too when he was aggressively eating his superworms.
