    Ziggy update and continued worries

He does blackbeard a bit, but he's done that a lot ... even when he was feeling perfectly healthy.

    Ziggy update and continued worries

Well, this has been developing since last September, and we've been trying various things to "fix" him. The vet has changed diagnoses a couple times. My wife even thought at one point that they gave us a different lizard who was sick! I doubt anything that nefarious happened. I do think feeding...

    Ziggy update and continued worries

Hi again, I posted a while back about our pet, Ziggy. He is about a year and a half old. He was doing great until about September. He then started to not eat his greens - would only eat bugs. He started having mobility issues, and soon could no longer catch crickets. We were feeding him super...

Worried about Ziggy ... not eating greens, trouble moving

It was the one I mentioned before - T5 10.0. I think we were talking about how I should hang it down from the top of the tank, since he isn't able (yet) to climb up on things to get the full benefit of the light.

Yeah - Ziggy is my dragon, and he's a little over a year old now. We've been hand/syringe feeding him, and he seems to be doing a little better. Got the new light to set up, so now we just need to get some zip ties to hang it. I'm hopeful.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but would you maybe be able to post a picture - if you have one - of the light fixture hanging, so I can see what you mean? If not, I understand. Thanks.

Does this look like it'd work? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HJG7TJ4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ADZE5TENFB3RO&psc=1

Worried about Ziggy ... not eating greens, trouble moving

Thank you. Do you know the best way to get the light and hood we need? I am looking on PetSmart.com now, and it's confusing - they don't really say whether a bulb is T5 or T8 - they only say it's 10.0.

Not 100% sure ... with the puree, he kind of licks his lips and swallows it. About a week or so ago, he was still able to eat super worms. Then they started to be able to wiggled their way out of his mouth. How do you lower the bulb into the tank?

Worried about Ziggy ... not eating greens, trouble moving

Okay, so I'm going to have to go searching for the bulb/hood. Frustrating, but he is worth it. He likely can't get up on anything - he's barely been able to push himself across his tank! So sad. We have started to feed him puree through a syringe and he seems to be doing a little better. We are...

So based upon what I said, do you think my bulb is a T8? He can't really get himself up on anything to bask now, so he's basically on the substrate and that's it. Sounds like the T5 is crucial.

That sounds good ... was thinking about doing that. We just had a lot of trouble getting a fixture and bulb that matched! The pet stores didn't have much, and even ordering online didn't produce much help. Will try again. He is worth it! Though the equipment isn't cheap. He SEEMS like he's doing...

It says "F25T8" and it's a 10.0, if that makes sense? We've been having trouble with it turning off and then not being able to turn it back on, so we've been using his old UVB coil light. Also, it's 36" and the tank is also 36".

I was just checking, and it's not clear on the box whether it's a T8 or T5. How can I tell? You put the same temps for both juvie and adult. Is that correct? Thank you.

He hadn't gone for about 7 or 8 days, but he just went yesterday.
