Hi everyone
I need some advice
I have a 3 year old recently adopted beardie
He came to me with a bad eye infection and eating nothing but superworms
In the last couple of months we have cleared up his eye infection and he was just started to add some dandelion greens to his diet
Well in the...
Glad this came up today
My man is doing the same.
a few days ago he was his usual self, now the past 5 days he wants to sleep, barely opens his eyes and refuses to eat.
I am HOPING that this is normal behaviour and he's not sick
I have a 75W basking bulb and a t5ho uv tube , as well as a ceramic...
yep, tried that as well
ugh, frustrating indeed.
I managed to get him to eat 6 pieces of dandelion green with baby food on them as a "salad dressing" that was one day, that was it. Trying tough love now but he hasn't eaten a THING in 4 days :(
oh my
Thanks,
I tried the blueberry thing already, didn't work, lol I have (believe me) tried just about everything to get him to eat anything besides worms.
A bowl of greens with a ton of superworms and he just stares at it, take out the greens and he will eat every worm ! uggh lol
I do gut load the...
HI everyone
I recently adopted(rescued) a 3 year old beardie.
He wasn't in the best of health when we got him, thin, dehydrated, eye problems etc.
Good news is, he is doing MUCH better, gaining a little weight, no longer dehydrated and eyes are getting better.
Problem is, he will NOT eat any but...
Good morning
I’m a new beardie owner as well
When I first got my dragon he did the same thing
It’s like when the temps go down nighttime they are almost hibernating (semi brumation maybe?) lol
I try and read all the new threads as I am learning as well
How’s he doing now today ?
no worries, I am all new to this as well.
Just sharing what seems to be working for me
Mine is already 3 years old but I only got him a short time ago, I rescued him from someone who didn't want him anymore
I have lights on timer as well, lights out now around 9:30 pm and back on at 8:00. once lights are out I usually don't bother with him, he usually falls asleep right after they go and and he sleeps pretty sound.
Thanks so much for your reply.
I have been doing SO much reading and research as I just want him to get better.
So good news, last night he ate 10 superworms and 3 pieces of dandelion greens ! This is HUGE for him. I know there are other staple worms he should be fed but unfortunately he has...
what is another good green to try? Keeping in mind, I live in a remote area and have limited access for the short term but will get what I need to get for him
Well, I can't say it would be perfect as again, Beardies are certainly much different to care for.
So right now I am using just a mercury vapor bulb which leaves the warm side of the tank at about 93-95 and the cool side is around 80-85---daytime
I use a ceramic heater in the nighttime and tank...
