Please get a guard for your basking bulb (a cage). With the shelves you have (looks really nice) your beardie can easily jump & burn themselves on the bulb.
If you want to check the exact temps, you cash get a temp gun. You aim it at the place just under your basking spot & it'll tell you the...
Sorry, just realised I said I lifted Karl's lips, when it's the opposite. I pulled on his lower lip on one side (didn't matter which), then put the syringe in, sliding it gently towards the front. He'd then lick and open enough for his meds. Good luck.
I don't know your dragon but this worked for me when Karl was still with us. I gently lifted his lips on the side and put the syringe in that way (slide the syringe from the side towards the front). At 1st, he tried to bite on it, so be careful of that, but Karl got used to this quickly and I...
Thank you. I miss him so much.
Here's a wee collage with some pics of him.
I want people to see how great Karl was. We gave him the best life we could. I love him so much.
We love him so much. Karl had a sarcoma last December from which he recovered (unless it had come back hidden), then some gum issues. He became more and more frail in the last couple of months.
He died at home, quite suddenly. We talked to his vet, it could have been various things that weren't...
Our baby Karl is gone. He died on Wednesday.
I tried to write this post but nothing comes out right. We love him so much. We are so lucky that he was here with us for almost 11 years (it would have been tomorrow). He was such a clever, bossy, cuddly boy.
We buried him today.
This is his last...
Did the vet take an x-ray to see if the limb was broken? If not, they can't tell.
The swelling in the legs/feet found be due to high uric acid levels causing gout. This can be checked with a blood test and can be treated.
If it is uric acid, make sure to give him plenty veggies such as spring...
Hi Tracie (and all reading),
The lump on Karl was soft tissue sarcoma. The lab results show that margins aren't clear, so it might come back, but we don't know when. We're hoping for a long remission.
Karl is well recovered from the surgery itself. He has a 5 day snooze at the end of December...
Update on Karl.
Karl had surgery to remove the lump on his back on the 8th of December. The surgery went well. Karl is recovering from it well too.
The vet took the lump and 2 black scales out (in case they were part of the same issue)
The scales are normal, but not the lump. It is soft...
Hi Tracie,
Thank you for the reply.
Karl is on allopurinol for the uric acid.
The plan is to get him to surgery, but he's weight is concerning, his fat pads are tiny. So for the next 2 weeks, he's getting Emeraid on top of his food (live 3 time a week, the rest is veggies only). The vet chose...
Hello.
We've got the results from Karl's tests.
Nothing explains the weight loss (he's already treated for the uric acid issues).
He has some yeast in the poo which happens sometimes with him, though it's never had him lose weight and it goes away after a while.
The next step is to remove the...
Hi Sadie and all. Back from the vet. After physical exam, she did an ultrasound for liver and gallbladder where all looked good. She took blood and poo sample. Blood test are for haematology panel, liver check and uric acid. Poo sample for parasites and bacteria.
To know what the lump is, we'll...
