In my experience UVB bulbs are just as/even cheaper than MVB. Buying the fixture does cost a bit, but if you can save for a month or two it's doable. MVBs are a pain - they have to be placed exactly correctly to work, let alone work well. And as Sadie said you still likely need additional UVB...
