I'm converting an entertainment center type cabinet into a beardie enclosure, and want to know your suggestions on lighting. Currently i am using a dome light for heat and another for uvb, but thought the long tube type lights would be better for this setup... so nothing hangs down. I will...
It's solid oak, with a mirror in the back, one light fixture overhead, underneath has pull out drawers for storage (aka. crickets and worms)... I was thinking about building one from scratch, but this looks like a much more economical option...
It's 5' tall, and 3' x 3' (width and depth). I was thinking of pulling out the guts in the large open area and installing a glass hinged door to make this an enclosure for my 1 year old beardie. Any pros or cons to this that anyone has experienced?
We're going camping - Friday night through Monday mid-day. Would my beardie be better off at home alone for these two days - or should i try and take him with me somehow? I dont' want to stress him out by traveling... But don't want him to starve. Thoughts??? My dragon is approx. 1 year old...
Here are the two lights i bought. I've been leaving the red light on 24/7, and the white light on only during the day... I appreciate everyone's comments and help!!!
Well, the red light they said to get is a heat lamp and is on continuously, and then i have the white light that is supposed to simulate the sun... which is only on during the day... I will check brands and powers when i get home, and let you know. My tank is 70 gal (possibly a 60)... Should...

We just rescued our beardie - who was abandoned outside near a ball field - - he's doing great - but he poops in his food bowl, and likes sleeping in his water dish... is this normal? (his cage is not too hot)
