I would just keep offering them to him each day, when my spike goes off them I don't give him any roaches for a few days and he gets hungry and eats them
Thanks Germ, all thanks to lots of research and information from fellow members on here :-)
I'm still adjusting to the blue tongue lol he is a little feisty at the moment
I haven't been on for a while and thought I should check in, Spike is doing great, his healthy, seems happy and loves venturing around the house!
We have just added a new addition to the family Charlie a blue tongue lizard
,
Today little miss five asked to hand feed Spike, so we pulled out a mealworm and held it in my hand, being gentle missed a few times and then with great force bit my finger, I didn't know they bit with such force. This is the first and last time I hand feed lol
Heat and humidity is an everyday thing where I am located, I have them in an old fish tank with fly wire over the top, outside in under the carport!
Hopefully it keeps up and I no longer have to buy
Finally, I have had success and got my roaches breeding like champions!
I've just been providing them with loads of toilet rolls to hide in and feeding them the dry pellets that spike doesn't eat and carrots!
Any other tips for keeping a successful breeding ground ?
Thanks, i wasn't aware of the rock issue, it was the only sand available, if I had known that I wouldn't have done it!
Looks like I've got a job on my hands this weekend
Spikes doing great on his sand and he hasn't made too much mess with it, he is more of a messy eater with his salad getting flicked all over his enclosure
Thanks for the advice, I left the carpet in just as a trial, he is extremely messy his enclosure is covered in salad, I wanted to leave something familiar in his cage at this stage to keep stress levels down as everything had changed in his enclosure but that and his basking log, I will change...
