I'm sorry! I know you both are right, I'm just scared and impatient. Her appetite is wonderful, poops are normal (she got a fecal done on Tues, it was negative).
She is done with the drops! She shuts her eyes tight as soon as she sees the bottle. I waste several drops before I am successful and...
I wound up being able to take Precious to the vet on Tues because of a cancellation.
It was a good visit. He did notice both eyes being swollen, with the right one much worse. The actual eyes were fine, there is no liquid or infection under the lids. No respiratory problems. She has maintained...
Thanks Patsy, this does has me a nervous wreck! I don't know if it's wishful thinking but I came home, went to take her out just now and it actually looks almost back to normal?
My son reminded me...a week ago, she was just running along the sofa like she's done many times, but kept on going and...
The reptile vet who's always seen mine isn't available until next Thurs. I could have made an appt this week with another vet, but they don't normally see reptiles and I wouldn't feel as confident. I chose to wait for next Thurs...unless of course, she got worse.
Did I make the right decision...
Thank you for your response. Hmm, I do give her carrots but not often. It seems when she's on her greens strike, I can get her interested again by throwing a few shreds of carrot in it but she doesn't even eat all of them. She gets collards and turnip greens primarily and I add eggplant and...
It was recently brought to my attention that Precious's eye appeared to be bulging. Her one eye is bigger but when I've looked up eye bulging, it doesn't quite look like the pictures I've seen. She just shed the skin around this exact eye 4 days ago.
I am unclear about what this is...is it...
Precious has hard tile and a bark ramp but recently I found 2 of her nails that had me concerned. I thought I was going to have to take her to the vet to get them trimmed...I was too chicken to try it myself.
But my friend sent me a video of someone trimming her bearded's nails this way and...
Eavlynn...Once, I tried to squash my fear with dubias and bought a cup home from a show. Precious would attack the first 1 or 2 but then wasn't so gung ho about them. Once she knew what they were when I offered to her, she wouldn't even attempt to eat them...I don't know why!
Finally one time...
Ok, we'll be staying away from this stuff!
Hi Patsy! How's your little family doing?? Do you still raise the beetles? We actually have a small family of them now. I remember you were having fun with yours, they really are adorable! Soon I'm going to turn a larger bunch at once and try my hand...
The pet store that I used to get her hornworms from just closed. The only other place I can get them now (without ordering online) doesn't have them on a regular basis. She decided she didn't like crickets probably 2 years ago, I do still offer every once a while though. That's why I was trying...
Precious has suddenly been expanding her taste buds so I thought I'd try this and she was actually interested but I chickened out at the last minute...the grasshoppers were huge and seemed kind of hard. She has eaten hornworms the same size or bigger though.
Are these ok to give her?
Do you use aquarium salt? I used to with past fish but with my current comet goldfish I have several live plants that thrive and procreate and was scared the salt would hurt the plants.
About a year or so ago, our older fish started acting weird and we found a sore on her. I went to a fish store...
Hdrydr - Do you think then that it was unnecessary for me to have treated him on my own the way I did? Would pinworms eggs just go away on their own with good cage hygiene?
Also, I apologize if I'm hijacking this thread. I was just always curious about the pinworm issue and got very interested...
This is a bit off topic but I was always curious about it. When I got my first skink and took him for his check up, his fecal had pinworm eggs. However, I was told that at that hospital, they DON'T treat that. I was kind of freaked out. I told her we are very hands on with our lizards, my child...
I am so jealous of your ability to build to your own viv like that, great job!
One thing that I would recommend is a hammock. I used some kind of 3m or command type hooks to hold up the hammock in Precious's viv...it must be a good 1 ½ years now and they've never fallen down yet.
It's funny...
