    Dandelions?

So I took Spike outside for a bit and he found dandelions. He went nuts. I took him inside and looked up dandelions to make sure they are safe and everyone says they are great. So I went out and gathered the leaves and washed them real well with veggie cleaner, cut em up and he loves these...

    Question about weight

According to the Vet Spike was under weight when I got him, so he has been on a high protein diet since he has been here. He has put on about 45 grams, just under 500 now and he is looking good. He is a 3 year old 20 inch male, very active. What should the target weight be? As an aside he has...

just became a granny to a beardy :)

You said heat rock, is it a fake rock with a heating element inside or just a real rock placed under the heat lamp to get warm? If it is a fake rock with a heating element get rid of it ASAP. Those can cause severe burns to reptiles. If it is a regular rock you're good.

    Late hello from Spike (pics)

Like I said they were good people with bad info. They sold the little guy to me with his whole set up for 20$ so he could have a good home. And I am no expert on dragons, that's why I'm here. Yes he is very active. Those were pics from play time in the hall. We sit on the floor because he...

    Late hello from Spike (pics)

Spike came from a home with good intentions but they knew very little about him (thanks to Petsmart). He had never seen a UVB bulb in his 3 years, was kept on pine bedding, was fed a diet of kaytee dragon pellets and bagged lettuce(no insects), and has never been given calcium or vitamins. His...

Dragon newbie !He ate part of a paper towel!

Another update: Our dragon is doing fine, continuing to poop and eating 30-50 bugs a day. He doesn't much care for plain greens without the fruit, so I have been putting his bugs in the food bowl so he picks up greens with him. He doesn't like to be misted, but he still gets in his water daily...

Dragon newbie !He ate part of a paper towel!

He defecated, is moving around fine, and has an appetite. No difference in behavior so I think I just overreacted. Thanks for the help!

Dragon newbie !He ate part of a paper towel!

Thanks I will keep an eye on the heat pad. I use them with my geckos because they are nocturnal and have not had a problem in 5 years. I will turn it down to keep the evenings cooler, but my house stays at 73-75 so I cant get it to 65. I have several screw in UVB bulbs for my snakes so I will...

Dragon newbie !He ate part of a paper towel!

    1. He ate about a one inch square (1" by 1"). Smaller than his head but big enough to make me worry. Been about 12 hours and he seems fine so I will try soaking. 2. Good, I had heard that if you give them D3 it can cause bone overgrowth. 3. I turn off the lights after about 14 hours with them...

Dragon newbie !He ate part of a paper towel!

I am not sure if this is in the right place so feel free to move if needed. I just got my first bearded dragon, I have several geckos, snakes, and turtles. He is 3 years old and looks great but I have a couple of questions. He was on pine bedding in his old home but I put him on paper towels to...
