Bearded dragon not basking, sits under uvb

My bearded dragon Pippin (1.5 y) is sitting under his UVB pretty much all the time, 24/7, and will not go on the warm side of his tank unless he is underneath something. This has been happening for a while now, probably over two months. I thought maybe he was just more comfortable on that side...

Is it tail rot? Planning to go to the vet, what would that usually entail for treatment?

My little buddy Pippin appears to have tail rot. I'm not entirely sure if that's the case but it seems to fit the profile. The end of his tail is lumpier, darker than the upper end, and somewhat stiff, and he appears to have some form of lesioning on the underside of the tail. Pics below...

    Sleepy Lizard Loves the Fluff

My last thread got out of hand in the replies, and I feel kind of bad about it. I figured I would spread a little positivity by providing the cutest picture of Pippin imaginable all snuggled up with me. Ready to get all cozy over the holidays in the favorite place to be, under fuzzy blankets!

    Bearded Dragon Lethargic -not eating/basking

No worries about the year. The UVB tube is placed center of the tank on the wire lid, with about a foot on either side of the hood to the edge of the tank lengthwise. Last poop was a while ago, probably three weeks, since she hasn't been eating much, which is part of what concerns me. They...

    Bearded Dragon Lethargic -not eating/basking

We only have one vet in the area who specializes in exotics unfortunately, the curse of small towns. In the meantime I may buy a different temp sensor, right now I have the little wire temp probes, and maybe investing in a handheld temp gun would be more accurate. I can change her UVB as well...

    Bearded Dragon Lethargic -not eating/basking

So I have a 1 year 4 month old dragon, Pippin. I believe Pippin is female, though I don't know for certain. Tank is about 70 gal, warm/basking side stays around 90, cool around 60-70. Currently she is underweight, and has a very hard time with food intake. Unfortunately our vet is closed...

    Brumation at 4 months?

Hi, my baby beardie Pippin has been healthy all the while I've had him and this weekend he began hiding in the corner of his tank in the dark. When I checked on him after coming home he had hidden underneath his rock, was aggressive, wasn't responding to food, and didn't want anything to do with...

    New Beardie, working on socializing...

Hi everyone! I'm new to bearded dragons and just got my first one about one month ago. His name is Pippin (too young to really know sex yet) and he's an absolute cutie. He's ravenous and a healthy eater, he adores crickets right now as he's about two months. My one concern with him is that he...
